Hello!

​

My name is Laura, also known as LWRA.

Born and bred in Tallinn, Estonia.

I am a freelance sound designer who attended Estonian Entrepreneurship University of Applied Sciences and obtained BSc in game design and development.

I discovered my niche, audio design, in my second year of studies and have been doing sound design work ever since 2021 summer, when I first interned for Creative Mobile. After my internship ended I started working as a Junior Sound Designer for Creative Mobile and have worked on a game called "Into The Radius" which is a VR survival shooter game. I am experienced in creating SFX, furthermore I specilized in voice over production.

I also have some experience in making games by myself or in a small group using various tools like Unity and Construct 2.

The purpose of this portfolio is to showcase some of the audio tracks I have made over the years.

INFORMATION ABOUT MY SOUNDS

SFX

​

The screams were made for an object called Screaming Artifact for "Into The Radius". The goal was to get an eerie otherwordly audio that creates panic for the player when the artifact is found. I used Audacity with various effects and VST plugins to get the eerie effects. Track layering was also used to add depth to the sound.

AMBIENCE

​

These tracks were created in the first year of my studies when we had sound design classes. I used various different free, no copyright tracks and merged them together and added some SFX to create an ambience that could fit into a game. Reaper was used to make these tracks.

RADIO

​

The radio FM broadcastings were created for "Into The Radius". I started with looking up public domain materials such as books and poems. Then we fed the text into a neural network which in return gave us audio recordings, which I then edited with different white noise, static and radio SFX. I used both Audacity and Reaper for this project.

The loudspeaker greeting was also for "Into The Radius", I used Audacity and applied reverberation, echo and some effects to add some depth and get a loudspeaker effect.

VOICE-OVER

​

The Presence and Katya's conversation was also something I made for "Into The Radius". I was given pre-recorded voice-overs which I then edited with numerous effects and VST plugins in both Audacity and Reaper. Panning the audio and layering held a big part in this task to make the player feel the ominous vibe The Presence has.
